Psalm 37:4 — Meaning & Reflection
“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Delighting in God reshapes what we desire.
Background
Psalm 37 counsels patience when the wicked seem to prosper, urging trust instead of fretting.
Teaching
This is not a formula for getting whatever we want. As we delight in God Himself, our desires are reshaped to align with His, and He satisfies the heart that treasures Him.
Reflect
- What do I delight in most?
- How might God be reshaping my desires?
Prayer
LORD, be my delight. Shape the desires of my heart to match Yours. Amen.
