Proverbs 18:10 — Meaning & Reflection
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
God's character is a refuge you can run into.
Background
Ancient cities had towers for defense. The next verse contrasts this with the rich man who trusts his wealth as a high wall.
Teaching
A name represents a person's character. Running into God's name means trusting who He is — faithful, mighty, merciful. True safety is found in Him, not in what we build.
Reflect
- Where do I run when I feel unsafe?
- Which of God's names comforts me most?
Prayer
LORD, Your name is my strong tower. I run to You and find safety. Amen.
