Isaiah 41:10 — Meaning & Reflection
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
God answers fear not with an explanation, but with His presence.
Background
Isaiah 40–48 speaks comfort to Israel facing exile and uncertainty. God reminds His people that He chose them and has not cast them away.
Teaching
Each command is paired with a reason: do not fear, because I am with you; do not be dismayed, because I am your God. Then come three promises — strengthen, help, uphold. The "right hand" is a picture of power and faithfulness; God's own righteousness is the guarantee He will keep His word.
Reflect
- What fear is loudest in my life today?
- Which of the three promises do I most need — strength, help, or being upheld?
Prayer
Father, You are with me. When fear rises, remind me that I am held by Your right hand. Strengthen me, help me, and uphold me today. Amen.
