Daily Teaching

1 Chronicles 16:23-25 — Meaning & Reflection

“Sing to the Lord , all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.”

1 Chronicles 16:23-25 (NIV)

God’s goodness is too great to keep private; daily worship opens our lives toward the whole world.

Background

These verses form part of the thanksgiving song associated with the ark’s arrival in Jerusalem under David. This section, also found in Psalm 96, calls the whole earth to praise the Lord and proclaim his glory among the nations.

Teaching

Israel’s worship looks outward, inviting all nations to recognize the Lord’s greatness. Declaring his salvation day by day makes praise an enduring practice rather than a single celebration. The Lord deserves reverence above every rival object of worship because his greatness is incomparable. We participate in this witness through humble words and faithful lives that direct attention to him rather than ourselves.

Reflect

Prayer

Lord, let gratitude for your salvation shape my ordinary days. Give me humility and courage to make your goodness known among the people I meet. Amen.
